Starting with football competitions between the late 90s and early 2000s. It was a football generation where the players were not concerned about fame or passion. There was more of team play, they believed Together Everyone Achieve More. I would not shy away from the fact that there were outstanding individuals; Pele, Zidane, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, to mention a few, but these were focused and passion-driven to helping their team to attain success. The rivalry between teams and players was a healthy one. It moved rivals to put up better performances. AC Milan had defeated Liverpool in the UCL final before Liverpool defeat them in 2005/2006 season.
More so, players were simple in terms of lifestyle and goal celebration. There was little or no scandal amidst players. There were professionalism and game respect by all participants at all levels. Everyone respected themselves.
Another is the way players jubilate whenever they score a goal. They throw their hands in the hair accompanying it with a hop like a Kangaroo.
Football was fun and void of scandal or match-fixing, unhealthy rivalry, controversial officiating. Players played for the love of the game and necessarily not for the ads on and freebies.
