Well, fashion houses are rapidly keying into the pandemic and helping themselves. Honestly, it is not up to the required safety standard but its better than nothing. The n-95 still remains the best face mask but do not discourage anyone who chooses to use these other ones.

Make you own Bandana-and-Coffee-Filter Mask by following these simple steps:
This mask uses a coffee filter in the middle of layered bandana cloth to provide some protection

    What You’ll Need:

    • Bandana/Handkerchief
    • cone coffee filter
    • Two rubber bands or hair ties

    How to Assemble It:

    1. Fold the bandana square in half.
    2. Cut the coffee filter horizontally across the middle.
    3. Place the wide section of the filter in the middle of the folded bandana.
    4. Fold the bottom of the bandana up to the middle, covering the filter, and fold the top down over it again.
    5. Loop a rubber band or hair tie around each end (left and right), leaving a few inches of fabric, so each side looks like a candy wrapper.
    6. Fold the sides over the band so they meet in the middle and tuck them together.
    7. Put a band over each ear, making sure the material fits snugly to your face. The pressure on your face should keep the material and rubber bands in place.

Boredom is the state of being weary and restless through lack of interest. This is a natural phenomenon that happens to every human. There are times you feel monotonous towards your routine and wish for something different, variety, sort of.

There are 5 ways, not restricted to these alone, of coming out of boredom.

    1. Reading a book Getting an interesting book to read could go along way to help you forget you bored. It is necessary to choose a good genre of book, using your discretion. The best genres of books I could refer are historical books, fictional books and relationship books, depending on your interest.
    2. Paint or sketch: Not everyone is a born artist, there are some of us who cannot draw anything. it is fine and good. However, if you for some reason derive pleasure in artistic work, then try to do so when boredom sets in. If you would like to ask “I do not have anything to draw whenever I am bored” Say no more, all you need do is take a walk within your domain, take pictures of images that appeal to you and draw them when you get into your room.
    3. Colouring: Colouring helps a great deal to lessen boredom. However childish it might sound, it could really go a long way to help. Reach out to your crayons, a sheet of paper and colour whatever comes to your mind/head. You could also draw a picture and colour them to your satisfaction.
    4. Write a list: writing a list is a cool way of biding time or wasting time (I would not like to use). You ask what kind of list can I write? You could write a list about: books you would like to read, places you would like to visit, how your wedding would be, your “aso-ebi” colour
    5. Do something creative: You need not be a great writer or an artist, just do something you would pay yourself to do. A few are starting a blog, writing a story, listening to music, seeing a movie
    6. Watch Youtube Videos: There are a thousand and one things to learn on youtube. Channel your internet connectivity to learning new things like how to answer interview questions, DIY, how to have a good memory, how to work smart, the list is endless.
    7. Go shopping: Going window shopping could heal you of boredom at times. You could just go to the mall and walk around, feast your eyes on the groceries

The logic behind this is to do something profitable when boredom sets in.  You could also place a phone call at your friends and/or family when bored. In summary, feeling bored is natural and happens to all and sundry, it is, therefore, imperative to walk yourself out of boredom when you are faced with it

This question is always asked by every Nigerian seeking entertainment locally. We would not say the Nigerian film industry is not giving it best shot in terms of screenplay, acting, screenwriter, etc, but they miss it at some point which seems too elementary to be missed or overlooked. We could point out some facts that make them underperform

To begin with, the major problem this industry is faced with is the issue of tribalism. This does not only affect the industry, but it also affects the country at large. There is this segregation we have in our mindset, “if you are not of my tribe, sorry I cannot be of help to you, however talented you may be” Until we all reach a compromise on nepotism, there would not be a progress of any kind.

Another is poor or low-quality footages. Imagine seeing a movie that gives a blurry view, there is no way one would enjoy such a movie, regardless of the excellency in the screenplay. Unfortunately, the industry has not set any standard to what kind of quality to be produced. This is what incompetent movie producers and directors leverage to release half-baked movie.

Every industry would find one way or the other to blame the government of not participating actively in the course of their affairs. Nollywood has the Federal movement to blame

Having said these, I still believe the movie industry should give us a run for our money or watch, as the case may be. We should see Nigerian movies and not have “it will end in tears” mindset. We should watch their movies and not predict what would happen in the next scene. We should see some characters in a Nigerian movie and be in suspense about what they would do in the movie. But the reverse has been the case for donkey years. Whenever you see Kanayo O. Kanayo in a movie, just know he is playing the role of a ritualist. Ini Edo, Nonso Diobi, Ramsey Noah, Jim Iyke, Chioma Chukwuka: expect a love battle between ‘true’ love and ‘fake/money’ love. It is saddening, it is time for a change, let us wake up. To put the icing on the cake is the dumb and headless Yoruba film screenwriters; with respect, those guys are nowhere near perfection. They are wallowing in the pool of unprofessionalism as applicable to the entertainment industry. We hope they do better by the year.

In conclusion, Nollywood would get to their promised land. With the intervention of  Kunle Afolayan, Genevieve Nnaji and others, hope lies at the end of the tunnel for us. We keep hoping for the best from them and we know they would deliver.

This sounds elementary, nonetheless, I will try to give it a fair trial.

A balanced diet, as the name implies, is a meal that contains nutrients that nourishes the body. When consumed they help build the body’s antigens, antibodies and help the body stay strong, which in a nutshell means, they give you a healthy physique. What makes your meal a balanced one is the presence of “calories” Calories are substances present in your food that gives that food the ability to give you energy when you consume them.

The number of calories in your food is tantamount to the amount of energy that food can provide you with. The body uses calories for everything, from walking, talking, breathing, sleeping, everything there is. Ever wondered why during fast you have little strength to talk or even walk? It is simply because you are low on calories.

Why is a balanced diet important?

    1. To start with, as earlier said, your organs, tissues, systems need nutrition to properly function. It would be nice of you if you did not starve those little “machine” inside you.
    2. The absence of a nourished organ can lead to its malfunctioning, which invariable, would cause susceptibility to sickness and diseases of every kind. Do you know the number of mosquitos and insect that has bitten you, yet you did not develop malaria or some chronic case? What is responsible for that a well-nourished body.

How to achieve a balanced diet?

You really do not need a fortune to achieve a balanced meal. It is way affordable to every class on the income scale. There are some foods that are low in unnecessary fats but rich in vitamins and other minerals. A few of them are:

    1. Fruits: When consumed, some fruits not only nourishes the body with the necessary nutrients, they also help flush the body, smoothen the skin, helps with digestions, and so on. Examples are Oranges, Water Melon, Apples, PawPaw, Banana, the list is endless. Like medical practitioners say “An Apple a day can save you”
    2. Vegetables: They are the primary source of vitamins and minerals. The beauty of vegetables is you can combine them together in your meal. A typical salad meal should be a good combination. Eating vegetables helps human blood in a way that is biological.
    3. Proteins: Like it is said in elementary science, protein helps rebuild the body’s worn-out tissues. It will interest you to know that Beans is not all protein as you know. It contains 60-70% carbohydrate and other minerals including protein. It is therefore advised to cook your beans with proteinous or protein-rich ingredients, like spice if with fish, crayfish, and so on. It is not all about eating just “carbs”, a little blend with protein makes your meal balanced.
    4. Dairy: Dairy is the kind of food gotten from cattle and it is highly rich in Calcium- the bone booster- Vitamin D, and so on. It is advised to, once in a while, take milk or yoghurt to keep strong. They also supply fats to your body.

So, my friend, ensure you eat a balanced meal today.

Well, I must categorically state that this is not the safest but will still keep out a certain percentage of Virus out especially in public places.

This no-sew option is easy to make, but it’s important to note that these are made using fabric that is several layers thick and fits snugly to your face. You should not use a thin bandana or scarf haphazardly wrapped around your mouth in a single layer. If a bandana is the only cloth available to you, there are directions below to make a mask using one and a coffee filter.

    What You’ll Need:

    • Tightly knit cotton material, like a T-shirt. (A scarf can work. The fabric should be big enough to fold several times and cover your nose and mouth.)
    • Two rubber bands or hair ties (also here)

    How to Assemble It:

    1. Cut the bottom 7 to 8 inches off of a T-shirt (cutting horizontally), so that you have a strip of material.
    2. Lay the material out flat in front of you, and turn it 90 degrees so that what used to be the bottom hem of the shirt (it’s usually double stitched) is facing left or right.
    3. Fold it from the bottom to the middle, and from the top to the middle. Repeat this step a second time.
    4. Loop a rubber band or hair tie around each end (left and right), leaving a few inches of fabric, so each side looks like a candy wrapper.
    5. Fold the excess material over the band, with each side meeting in the middle, adding another layer to the mask.
    6. Put a band over each ear, making sure the material fits snugly to your face. The pressure on your face should keep the material and rubber bands in place [Source WIRED].

I believe you understand what answer to give this. They are not interested in knowing whether you are physically strong or healthy or otherwise. They want to know your strongest areas in an ideal world and sort of weakness with plans of working on it.

    Your Strength

This question is asked to verbally verify the potential you possess in handling matters. It is to know the attributes/traits that would make you shine/advance/perform-well in the role you are applying for. Generally, you need to lay emphasis on soft skills you possess and how you have applied them in the course of your career. Here are some of the soft skills you can build on as it applies to you

    1. Good communicator
    2. Time management abilities
    3. Team play
    4. Ability to work under pressure

For example, you could answer in this format ” I am an adaptable person. I have always been a great team player. I am good at keeping a team together and producing quality work in a team environment.” “I am able to adjust my approach to meet deadlines”

    Your Weakness

One thing I need you to bear in mind is, do not mention a weakness you have no plan to correct or change. This question should answer areas you are struggling in your career. Basically, mentioning your weakness entails talking about hard skills. They are:

    1. Procrastination
    2. Disorganized
    3. Impatient
    4. Inability to self regulate, leading to burning out

Do not just mention these and keep quiet. Say things on how you are working seriously to overcome this challenge.

For example “I have some challenges with doing things as quickly as possible because I mostly forget. But I have adopted a principle of having sticky notes that remind me of things to do.” ” I have never been comfortable with public speaking which as you know, can be a hindrance in the workplace. Realizing this as a problem, I enrolled in a speech workshop and now I am able to overcome my lifelong fear. Since then I have been given lots of presentations to make. I still do not love it, but I believe with time I would get better”

It is therefore imperative you look inward and draft out where your strengths and weaknesses lie.

Here are the quantities recommended by WHO for The Better (Spray) Recipe

    • Isopropyl alcohol
    • Glycerol or glycerin
    • Hydrogen peroxide
    • Distilled water
    • Spray bottle

Mix 340gram fluid of alcohol with 2 teaspoons of glycerol – glycerol is an important ingredient because it keeps the alcohol from drying out your hands. If you can’t find glycerol, proceed with the rest of the recipe anyway and just remember to moisturize your hands after applying the sanitizer.

Mix in 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide, then 85grams fluid of distilled or boiled (then cooled) water. Load the solution into spray bottles—this isn’t a gel, it’s a spray. You can wet a paper towel with it as well and use that as a wipe.

Note: if by any chance you choose to work with a lower-concentration solution of rubbing alcohol, use far less water; remember, at least ¾ of your final mixture has to be alcohol.)

If you must, you can add in a splash of essential oil to your concoction to make it smell nice. Just don’t use lavender. Everyone else uses lavender, and your sanitizer is superior. [Source: WIRED]

I believe this is an interview question that requires sincerity and “gravity”.

Foremost, an interview session is not a do-or-die affair, it is more of a get-it-or-not process of an application. One should not see an interview period as a destiny-influencing. It is no big deal afterwards, getting the job or not mean the end of the world neither does it imply something otherwise.

Here are a few things to put in mind when considering answering the aforementioned question.

    1. Your personal data is not necessary: They are not interested in what your name is, where you are from, what your forefathers look like, and so on.

    2. Mention past experience and proven successes as they relate to the position you are applying for. This could be messed up a little, try not to get it wrong. They simply want to know where you have worked previously- internship, part-time jobs, volunteer jobs- and how your previous position makes you a perfect match for the new role you are applying for.

    3. Consider how your current/previous role is in relation to the role you are applying for. Even if you previously worked in a bakery and wishes to work in a bank, try to channel in a good way how your personality would make you a perfect fit for the job.

    4. Focus on your strength and abilities that you can support with examples. Do not talk about how bad you are, if you are a bad person (but I do not see any reason why you should be a bad person in the first place). Support your claims with real-life examples of how you support a co-worker to beat a deadline or complete a project.

    5. Try to mention hobbies that suites the role you are applying to. If you are applying for the role of a front-desk officer, mention hobbies like typing, writing articles, reading, etc.

More importantly, you need to practise this question over and over again to get used to answering the questions whenever you are attacked with it in.

Here are some of the simplest Coronavirus Tips
Whether you have hand sanitizers, or not the CDC has made it expedient you follow these rules for your safety and the safety of those around you.

    • Wash your hands regularly: Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water. Hand sanitizer—even the real, professionally made stuff—should always be used when you’re travelling or unable to wash your hands.
    • Stay at home: Don’t leave the house except for essential trips outside like trips to the grocery store or to see your doctor.
    • Stay at least 6 feet away from other people: This is called social distancing. Keeping your distance makes it hard for the virus to jump from someone else to you (or vice versa) through respiratory droplets.
    • Wear a cloth face mask outside the house: The CDC now recommends everyone wear cloth face coverings when out in public where you may be near other people.
    • Avoid touching your face: You could transmit the virus from your hands into your mouth.
    • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces: Do it daily, especially if items or people leave or enter your home.

I hope this can help your slide…

Conflicts are rancour that has tendencies of occurring one or a few times in a lifetime. Issues would always erupt from friends and families that might tend to last longer than normal leading to bigtime conflicts.

There are some principles that could help solve conflicts if followed.

    1. Have an intimate conversation with the person: Do not just pick up your phone and intend to start a conversation because you feel its right for you. You need to ask the other fellow when and where would be convenient for them to have a talk. Also, try to be honest with them as possibly possible.
    2. Listen carefully: There are so many people who talk, but few listen. One needs to listen carefully to whatever explanation the third party has to say when solving conflict. As much as you would want to listen, it is imperative to ask questions for clarification purposes when necessary.
    3. Develop a plan to solve the conflict: Start with the most important conflict; you need not beat around the bush, just go straight to the point with precision and carefulness. Set up future meeting plans to continue the conversation if necessary; It could be possible that you might not resolve the conflict in one meeting, so, try to reschedule a future meeting.
    4. Follow through on your plan: Try as much as possible to wheel off digressing from the bone of contention. Ensure you stick your nose into the course of the conflict to resolving it. Maintain a collaborative ” let-us-work-out-a-solution” attitude; the essence of coming together in the first place is to resolve the conflict, try to come up with a “how do we make things us with each other” attitude. More like the positive way forward.
    5. Build on your Success: Look for opportunities to point out progress; after possible reaching of compromise between the two parties, ensure you both factor in some moments that would foster the relationship and make the bonds glue the more, for example going to the cinema, restaurants, playing games amidst others. Compliment the other person’s insight and achievement; try to see the good in what their plans for life and career are and make a constructive contribution. Congratulate yourselves for reaching a compromise.

Following these principles could help put a lifelong conflict to an end.
