To illustrate the effectiveness of social distancing measures, let’s consider the following example. Starting off with one infected person, the virus spreads and the number of cases doubles every four days. 36 days into the outbreak, we have 512 cases and government A decides to do something. It implements social distancing measures that, for the sake of simplicity, immediately bring the doubling time from four days up to eight days. Meanwhile government B doesn’t think it’s necessary to do anything and lets the virus spread unchecked. Three and a half weeks later, 60 days into the outbreak, government A is dealing with 4,096 cases while government B is looking at more than 30,000 cases.
To further show how big of a factor time is when dealing with exponential growth, let’s bring government C in, which decides to implement the same measures as government A, only eight days later, once it has reached 2,000 cases. In this case, the measures are still highly effective, but the country still ends up with twice as many cases as country A, which simply acted quicker.

A piece of advice you have to keep to the heart is: build a strong firewall against all forms of Destructive Criticism because most of them are born out of envy, hatred and jealousy.
It is paramount to take out time to decipher the true intentions of every critic to decide the best possible action to take concerning their contrasting opinion. Also bear in mind that anyone who despises your progress would consciously make efforts to discredit any good that comes from you.

Here is my own perception of thw whole brouhaha.
Dec 2019: Coronavirus in China 14 Jan 2020:WHO says NO human to human spread (despite Taiwan warning)
31 Jan 2020: Trump bans travel from China
3 Feb 2020: WHO Chief criticises travel bans from China Today, almost 2 million cases and 126,000 people dead.
The outbreak started as far back in China in December 2019 China suppressed and silenced whistleblowers. China made journalists disappear. The WHO in collusion with China misled the world that there was no human spread and travel bans were unnecessary.
There is strong evidence that China lied to the world. Today, President Trump announced US will stop the funding of the World Health Organization while an investigation is conducted to assess the WHO’s role in possible deliberate mismanaging of the Coronavirus outbreak around the world.
China denied for months in 2003 that it had a serious outbreak of a lethal respiratory disease in its southern cities. That outbreak is known as SARS, for severe acute respiratory syndrome [SARS]. There were over 8,000 cases and 774 people died.
And you know what would shock you even further: despite all those controversies about his role in Ethiopia, Tedros won the WHO top job ahead of British challenger Dr David Nabarro, because China worked tirelessly to make it happen.
Now when you consider all the above, How China suppressed whistleblowers, How China and WHO lied there was no human to human spread despite evidence from Taiwan, How WHO deceived the world into thinking Chinese travel bans are unnecessary,
So rationally, Trump’s decision to stop funding the WHO for now, Look at it this way USA gives the biggest funds to WHO, USA feels WHO has been incompetent on their handling of the Covid19 outbreak, now causing the lives of over 26,000 citizens with over 600,000 cases,

There is a saying that goes “Patience is a virtue. Possess it”. In a similar manner, it is a lifestyle. You can not get anything in life outside the jurisdiction of patience. Patience is simply the ability to be calm as a cow crossing the road.
Taking a cue from how patient cows cross the road, it is imperative we learn to be calm at all times. There would be reasons to always get agitated and tensed. Patience, regardless, is needed for one’s sanity.
When you choose to be impatient, you lose out on so many things. Impatience might lead you to lose your inner peace, deny you privileges and opportunities.
It is very easy and cheap to be impatient, but costly and intentional to be patient. We all need patience at every crossroad of our lives. Being patient does not in any way mean things would turn the way we want. Rather, it helps restores peace in our minds.

Life is a two sided coin in all facet; be it health, wealth or others.
Being in good health is such a priceless feeling one must and should never take lightly. It is now that we all value being in a healthy state of mind and thought. A quick one, being in good health is not strictly restricted to a good physical state but having a healthy mindset void of worries and anxiety. On the other hand, being in a bad state of health is something no one would never wish for.
Being in wealth, a friend said, is having everything at one’s beck and call, life being easy. There is a common say that has it that one should make wealth in their mid 30s- 40s. As much as this could be true, it could amass pressure on an individual forcing them to do illegal and unhealthy things beyond their capacities. Being poor, is just something to talk about. It entails so much that words would not accommodate.
Whatever phase you find yourself, it is imperative to be grateful and wish work hard for the best

Nickelodeon is a very interesting channel on the cable network.
It shows a wide range of shows, from animations to family shows to school shows.
My favourites are SpongeBob SquarePants, iCarly, The Thundermans, Gameshakers, Sam and Cat, Henry Danger.
SpongeBob is a selfless sponge, he is so compassionate. SpongeBob could remove his eyes for anyone. SpongeBob is void of eyeservice, his personality is second to none. On the other hand, SpongeBob has Avery dumb best friend; Patrick. Patrick’s gullibility is second to none. That character does not live life, he only exists. Squidward, SpongeBob’s neighbour is the only mature character in the animation. He is a lover of music; the best clarinet player in Bikini bottom. There is also a Plankton and Mr Krabbs who always fight for who the best customer is in Bikini bottom.
All these characters have taught me to always render helping hands to friends, families and strangers, without expecting returns, never stop trying and making attempts to be successful in life.
iCarly is a TV show of high school students, it features majorly Carly, Sam, Spencer, Freddy and Gibby. Freddy is the technical personnel, Sam and Carly are the presenters of the show. I learned from these guys to stop at nothing but being the best.
The Thundermans is a show of a family with superpowers. They are six (6) in number, Hank (father), Barbara (Mother), Phoebe and Maximus (twin children), Billy, Nora and Chloe (Children). Phoebe is the mature one in the house, caring and could be imposing. But she is the coolest of them. Max, on the other hand, wants to be good at being a supervillain.
This twin, despite their altercations, love each other and would always have their backs. Regardless of Max’s evil plans, Phoebe always counteracts his plans and try to make him do good things.
Conclusively, there is the platitude that Nickelodeon is for children. Well, I stand to interrupt the narrative. Nickelodeon is for all and sundry.

The Electricity Distribution Companies (DISCOS) recognise the challenging effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) on the economic and daily lives of our customers.
In fulfilment our commitments to the nation, they hereby align ourselves with the efforts of the National Assembly and the Federal Executive to mitigate the hardships that are currently being borne by our customers and other citizens all over the country.
They commend the Federal Legislators, the Executive arm and The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) for their initiative and are committed to working with them to ensure more efficient power supply within this difficult period, as the nation battles with the ravages of COVID-19.
They are also completely aligned with the plans to ensure palliative measures, including free electricity supply to all Nigerians for two months, to make life easier, during the lockdown period. Details of implementation to come soon.
Again, as a key utility player in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI), they have reiterated their commitment to improving service delivery to the nation during this pandemic period and thereafter.
Having read these, I would like to implore us all to be committed to paying our electricity bills once this is over.

Have you ever wondered why in football or sports in general there’s always a verbal discussion between opponents?
Take for instance, a match between a Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury would always involve throwing tantrums to agitate the mind. Same is applicable to football and other sports.
A quick fact is that the mind has a petabyte space for storing information.
The mind is the seat of being all individuals possess. This is the distinguishing factor humans have from all other creatures.
It’s processing speed, storage capacity, coordinating ability, transforming power…are all incomparable.
Have you ever wondered how you remember events of a century-old?
Wondered where the phrase “mind game” came from or why it was coined?
Before any match commences, the first thing to do before the game itself is to talk down your opponents by appealing fear-instilling words into their minds through their senses. Whoever wins a match is the one who has won in the game of the mind.
To be a loser, malnourish your mind. To be a winner do the opposite.
It is not enough to have a mind, which you obviously do. Instead, the onus lies on you to train your mind to be the best it can be. Mind you, there is no competition with a mind that’s alien to you. I meant, your mind should compete with itself to being a better version of its incumbent self.
Your mind is powerful. Harness its abilities.

This is a good question to answer.
Generally, electricity value chain across the globe is the same, the only difference is the names of the players of the utility.
Nigeria unbundled its electrical utility on November 1, 2013, to investors (Investors are set of companies or individuals that spend money to maintain and buy utilities-water, electricity, etc)
Back to the value chain.
The value chain of Electricity is divided into four (4) major groups
1. The Power Generators
2. The Power Transmitters
3. The Power Distributors
4. The Power Consumers
1. Power Generators
These are the group of technical guys that generate power from different sources, be it Hydro, Gas, Coal, Nuclear, Biomass…
Specifically, we have 6 power generating companies in Nigeria. These companies generate power/electricity from hydro and gas-fired plants. The popular ones are Egbin Thermal Station in Ikorodu, Lagos (Gas fired), Kainji Dam in Niger (Hydro station), Shiroro, AFAM, Olorunsogo…
The major challenge these players faced is shortage of gas supply and/or debts accrued from buying gas on credit from oil companies like Shell and the likes.
2. The Power Transmitters
Basically called Transmission Company, they are the ones that wheel the power/electricity generated to substations to be picked by distribution companies.
In Nigeria, they are TCN- Transmission Company of Nigeria. The problem they are faced with is rigid cables, lack of transformers, poor network system…these are technical terms that would take forever to explain.
3. The Power Distributors (DisCos-Distribution Companies)
As the name implies, they distribute power they get supplied with from the transmission company. In our case, TCN is solely responsible for supplying electricity to the distribution companies that eventually power your house.
We have 11 Distribution companies in Nigeria
Abuja Electricity Distribution Company
Benin Electricity Distribution Company
Eko Electricity Distribution Company
Enugu Electricity Distribution Company
Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company
Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company
Jos Electricity Distribution Company
Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company
Kano Electricity Distribution Company
Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company
Yola Electricity Distribution Company
They all have areas of coverage within the federation.
All these DisCos are not responsible for generating light, they only distribute what they have been supplied.
4. The Power Consumers
This comprises of you and me.
What I want you to know is, do not ascribe blame to your distribution company whenever you do not have light.
