Have you been searching for tips to help you read this year? Do you want to read more but you don’t have time?
Anytime I pick up a book, my mind wanders. You’d think it’s easy to do what you enjoy, but that’s not always how it works. It takes discipline to make time to read.

I have always liked reading. But, to be honest, I didn’t read much before. In addition to being a great way to escape and relax, reading can also increase your knowledge, focus and worldview as a business owner.

If you love books but can’t seem to get going, here are my tips;

1: Defining the purpose of reading;

Before you start reading, ask yourself why you want to read this book. There are two main reasons why most people read: either for pleasure or knowledge.

2: Schedule Your Reading Time;

If you want to read more books, find time like you would schedule friends gathering or coffee time. Just waiting to see when you are in the mood doesn’t work, Sometimes you just need to start staying in your mood.

3: Make Reading a Part of Your Daily Routine

Personally, I set reminders on my phone to read everyday. If reading is important to you, no matter how busy you are, you will find and schedule time to do it. Allocating a fixed time to read each day reduces procrastination.

4: Read for Meaning, Not Words

There are times when you are just reading words, you can’t comprehend what exactly the book is saying.

Reading a book word by word isn’t an effective way to read. With just a few important words, your brain can devise meanings and comprehend what the author is saying.

5: Feel Free to Skip Pages

I skip a lot of pages when reading, when I don’t just find them exciting

When it comes to reading for personal pleasure and knowledge, you set your own rules. Don’t feel bad about skipping pages. It helps you move through boring or irrelevant parts quicker, and you won’t waste time reading something that doesn’t serve you.

Benefits of reading can’t be overemphasised, it isn’t restricted to a set of people. We all need to read as an entrepreneur , student, parent etc.

Probably your belt doesn’t fit anymore because you’ve added a little weight during the holidays or working out and reducing inches, it’s very easy to know how to add one or two new holes to the belt. You will see several different methods of punching: some involve tools that make the job particularly easy, while others allow you to do it with what you have.

Fortunately, there are various ways to add a hole to the belt yourself. No need to go out and buy a brand new one. As long as you know how to make holes in the belt, you can save money and at the same time keep your favorite fashion accessories.

THE NAIL METHOD

This method is one of the more traditional methods, and many professionals will also use this method to create a perfect round hole. One of the most significant advantages of the nail method is that the possibility of material tearing off the nail is greatly reduced. The newly made hole, it should look the same as the other holes on the belt.

You’ll be needing;
Nail
Piece of flat wood
Measuring Tape
Plier

Step 1
Measure the holes (most are always one inch apart) Simply use a ruler to set up a horizontal straight edge by making sure it crosses each hole at the same point, and mark on the back.

Step 2
Heat up the nail for a minute by holding it with the plier.

Step 3
Keep your belt stretched firmly on the wood and point the nail to the spot you want to make a hole, and push into the belt. It makes a small regular hole very easily.

When the waist size changes, you no longer need to go to the store to buy a new belt. You can save money and don’t have to get rid of your favorite belt. This is a win-win situation!

It is important we learn DIY hacks like this incase of emergencies.

Story telling has been for ages, which is an important part of our daily communication, but stories have meanings beyond entertainment value. In fact, storytelling is a powerful business skill. If implemented effectively, it can promote business development in a variety of ways, such as improving customer loyalty, developing strong marketing strategies, and increasing profits.

Storytelling in business is often regarded as a buzzword, but it is still far away. Commercial narrative is like narrative in film, drama, literature and communication-it is an indispensable part of our lives. In addition to simple entertainment value, the story also has meaning. Stories connect people with other people, companies, brands, products and their dreams. Without this connection, a business cannot succeed

Why tell stories?

Storytelling has always been an indispensable part of our lives. However, the story is more than just entertainment. Since ancient times, people have used stories to communicate, learn and connect with each other. Stories enable people to share knowledge and emotions, discern the truth, discover themselves and their place in the community, and understand the world they live in. So people have the conditions to look for stories to make decisions-in order to find value.
A clearly communicated story is the foundation of a strong marketing strategy. Although every company has a story to tell, too many things fail because of clear, fascinating and effective marketing communications. I often work with clients who have grand ideas, visions and dreams about what the brand should convey and represent, but when this story is conveyed through online channels, the content is confusing, ambiguous and inconsistent.

Stories are useful because we want them to lead to a solution somewhere, and the listener or reader knows that the solution is coming. If the story is interesting enough, then the person will want to hear more information and even ask questions such as “What happened next? ” sort of question. You, the storyteller.

What is your business story? Did you start your business in a basement or garage ? What drove you and your co-founders to start this business? Don’t say that you want to change the world; that’s very cliché. Discuss how you can simplify certain things, make better widgets, or improve the way you provide services to people so that they can save money or live a more fulfilling life. Tell you how to create something that conforms to your values and ethics.

In this post, we highlight the exchange rate of the Naira to other currencies in Africa as it becomes the weakest currency. It is unfortunate because the Naira started really strong even to the USD. I remember 1 Naira was about 2 dollars at a point. Up to the year 1985, the Naira was the equivalent of the Pound Sterling and stronger than the Dollar. Yes, the almighty Dollar.

Here is a list of the other African currencies and their equivalence to the Naira.

South Africa: Rand 1= ₦79

Angola: 1Kwanza = v₦12

Botswana: 1Pula = ₦28

Cape Verde: 1Escudo = ₦8

Algeria: 1Dinar = ₦12

Egypt: 1Pound = ₦35

Eritrea: 1Nakata = ₦18

Ethiopia: 1Birr = ₦19

Ghana: 1Cedi = ₦56

Gambia 1 Dalasi = ₦9

Kenya: 1Shilling = ₦6

Liberia: 1Dinar = ₦8

Lesotho: 1Loti = ₦19

Libya: 1Dinar = ₦156

Morocco: 1Dirham = ₦176

Madagascar: 1Ariary = ₦14

Mauritius: 1Rupee = ₦16

Malawi: 1Kwacha = ₦21

Mozambique: 1Metical = ₦24

Namibia: 1Dollar = ₦32

Sudan: 1Pound = ₦42

Swaziland: 1Lilangeri = ₦19

Even the worst economies of Africa now have more valuable Exchange rate than us.
As at today $1 = ₦480?
€1 = ₦560?
£1 = ₦660?

₦1,000,000.00 is less than $2,100.00…..and some think that we have not reached the breakpoint??

There will never be a right time starting a business

Starting your own business is often a learn-as-you-go process. But, the more smart decisions you make early, the better chance your company has for success. Unfortunately, you don’t succeed in business just by completing a list of task or just because you think it’s a good idea.

It is important to note that there is no one size fits all model to starting a new business, but these steps will help you organize your thoughts, and iron out important details so when you launch your business you have answered all the important startup questions.

I hope this few tips I’ll be sharing gives you that push to start something

1: Stop making excuses

Starting a small business is a massive but rewarding undertaking. Part of starting a small business is doing things in a way that makes the most sense to you, but a little guidance can help as well. Consider these tips for starting your own company and incorporate them as needed:

Countless people dream of becoming entrepreneurs, but they never do. They’re burdened with excuses and fears of failing. From money to time to responsibilities, you can make a million cases for not starting a business.

Let’s face it, being your own boss is scary. In most cases, new business owners have a lot to lose with little insight into their chances of success. Worrying about the risks of business ownership is normal.

2: Be sure there really is a market for what you want to sell

One of the biggest mistakes startups make is to assume a lot of people will want to buy a particular product or service because the business owner likes the ideas or knows one or two people who want the product or service. To minimize your risk for loss, never assume there is a market. Research the idea.

3: Be Passionate

You don’t have to love whatever your business is about (and probably shouldn’t), but you do have to be fired up about it. You’re going to devote a lot of time and energy to starting a business and building it into a successful enterprise, so it’s really important that you truly deeply enjoy what you do, whether it be running fishing charters, creating pottery, or providing financial advice.

4: Write a business plan.

This is a key step before starting your business, as it provides you with invaluable information. Creating a business plan will allow you to better understand both operational and financial goals, providing crucial budget and marketing strategies. The main reason for doing a business plan first when you’re thinking of starting a business is that it can help you avoid pouring your time and money into something that will not succeed

5: Be a solution

Rather than starting your idea with what to sell, think about what it will solve. It’s a lot easier to gain a solid customer base when your business is fixing a problem. Your startup should fill a hole in a certain market or niche.

6: Start While You Are Still Employed

How long can most people live without money? Not long. And it may be a long time before your new business actually makes any profits. Being employed while you’re starting a business means money in your pocket while you’re going through the start-up process.

Following the business tips above will make starting your new business both a smoother, less stressful process and go a long way towards ensuring the business you start lasts and thrives.

Social media marketing strategy is important for the success of your blog or platform. You could be posting on social media sites for the purpose of posting if you don’t have a plan. It would be difficult to generate results on social media until you consider your ambitions, who your target audience is, and what they expect. Developing a social media marketing plan is necessary whether you want to expand your brand through social media or advance as a social media marketer.

Here’s one approach.

  • Set targets that are appropriate for your business.
  • Spend time researching your target demographic.
  • Determine the most relevant metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Make your social identity as current as possible by creating (and curating) engaging social content.
  • Examine what does, what doesn’t, and how to keep changing.

Set Targets that are appropriate for your business

Boost brand recognition: This entails publicising your reputation. Avoid exclusively publishing advertising messages to build genuine and long-lasting brand value. Instead, prioritise material that highlights your individuality and beliefs. This is an important social media marketing strategy

Produce leads and profits: Followers would not allow social transactions by mistake, whether online or in-store. For eg, are you concerned with informing consumers of new goods and promotions?

Spend time researching your target demographic.

Marketers should avoid any conclusions due to the abundance of population data and social media tracking resources available, you just don’t have to. All of the information you need to shape your social media marketing campaign is already available if you know where to look. Again, your knowledge of your target demographic would be useful here. Which channels do your target audience use the most? What draws them to the platform? Teenagers and young adults, for example, can enjoy scrolling through Instagram while they are bored to see what their friends are up to or if their favourite brands have new items.

  • Because of their high-earning fan bases, Facebook and YouTube are also perfect platforms for advertising.
  • The bulk of Instagram and TikTok users are millennials or Generation Z, demonstrating the power of bold, eye-catching content that oozes personality.
  • Women outnumber men on Pinterest, which has the highest average order value among social shoppers.
  • LinkedIn has a well-educated user base, making it a hub for in-depth, industry-specific news that could be more complex than what you find on Facebook or Twitter.

Determine the most relevant metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)

Your social media marketing strategy should be data-driven regardless of what you’re offering. This entails concentrating on the social media metrics that are relevant. Rather than focusing on vanity measurements, advertisers are concerned with delving into evidence that is specifically related to their objectives.

So what metrics are we talking about? Have a look at the overview below:

  • Audience Reachability: The number of individual users who saw your post is referred to as post scope. How much does the content make it into users’ feeds?
  • Clicks. This is the number of people who have clicked on your content or account. Tracking clicks per campaign is critical for understanding what piques people’s interest or encourages them to shop.
  • Participation. The sum of all social experiences divided by the total number of impressions. This reveals how much the audience perceives you and their ability to engage with you.
  • Hashtag usage. What were the most often used hashtags? Which hashtags were most closely connected with your company? Having these responses will help form the emphasis of your future material.

Make your social media marketing strategy as current as possible by creating (and curating) engaging social content.

For advertisers, time is potentially more critical than ever, not only are you supposed to post new content on a daily basis, but you are also expected to be available to your fans at all times. Customers, on the other hand, cannot necessarily be expected to work on the timetable. When you’re short of money or part of a tight squad, staying on schedule can be difficult. Let’s take a look at those suggestions for making the most of your time and resources.

Find the following examples:

  • Sports enthusiasts use social media before, after, and after sporting activities to identify and engage with event-related news.
  • Athletes are most of the time usually on Instagram while they relax during their morning or evening workouts.
  • People who enjoy traveling could be more involved on social media on weekends as they schedule their next vacation (or during their work breaks when they are dreaming about their next trip).
  • When mothers are breastfeeding their babies in the middle of the night, they can be browsing across social media.

You may have deduced from these few observations that there is no universally optimal time to write. It is entirely dependent on the target demographic. So, for this phase, concentrate on your target audience’s general behaviour trends.

Examine what does, what doesn’t, and how to keep changing.

You’ll never know how one campaign performed next to another if you don’t constantly analyze your social media marketing strategy. Having a bird’s-eye view of your social media presence will help you bring things into context. This entails reviewing the best-performing content and changing your campaigns as your content plateaus. A good tool is Google Analytics

There is no doubt that all of social media is based on trial and error. Monitoring the analytics behind your campaigns in real-time helps you to make minor adjustments to your social media marketing plan rather than making large, time-consuming improvements.
