The FIFA Men’s World Cup in Qatar will hold its 22nd edition in November and December of 2022, breaking with long-standing convention to hold the tournament in June and July to correspond with the European club offseason. Due to Qatar’s host country’s high heat, the competition was finally moved.

The competition will be the second World Cup hosted in the Asian Football Confederation following the 2002 World Cup held in South Korea and Japan, making it the first World Cup to be held in the Middle East.

winners five times in a row. Brazil is the tournament favorite, with France, the defending World Cup champion, not far behind.

The FIFA World Cup in Qatar will begin on June 14, 2022, and The Sporting News will provide you with all the pertinent information.

On Sunday, November 20, host nation Qatar will officially start off the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The competition was originally scheduled to start on Monday, November 21, but FIFA modified the date to make sure the host country received the attention it deserves.

World Cup 2022 opening game

The opening match of the tournament will take place on November 20 at 7 p.m. local time (11 a.m. ET/ 4 p.m. GMT) in Al Bayt Stadium between hosts Qatar and Ecuador.

It is customary for the host nation to participate in the tournament’s first game. And when the calendar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup was announced back in April, there were questions since it did not feature the customary opener game involving the host nation Qatar. Instead, according to the schedule at the time, Qatar was scheduled to play the second of four games on Monday, November 21, after Senegal vs. the Netherlands.

The Games Schedule

The first matches of the group stage are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. local time (5 a.m. ET / 10 a.m. GMT), with subsequent matches beginning at staggered intervals throughout the day. The group stage will have three more kickoff windows, with the last one beginning at 10 p.m. local time (2 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. GMT).

The group stage will consist of up to four matches each day.

There will only be two main kickoff windows per matchday during the knockout stage. Either 6 p.m. local time or 10 p.m. local time will be the game start time for the knockout rounds.

Have you received a social media message from your favourite celebrities account? Are you certain it’s that individual before you get too excited? Are you sure? We’ve heard rumours that con artists, who would do almost everything to get their hands on your money, are now using social media to impersonate famous people. They are soliciting donations from fans for a variety of fictitious purposes, such as winning a prize, supporting a good cause, or providing assistance of some type. Some famous people do raise money for worthy causes. However, you must be certain that the cause and the person asking for your support are legitimate.

There are many different imposter scams and Nigerians are notorious for this, but they all operate in the same way: the con artist poses as someone you know and trust in order to get you to transfer them money. And that’s precisely what these fake celebrities are attempting to achieve.

What then should you do if a famous person approaches you on social media and demands money?

Speed up. Speak to a trusted friend or relative before sending money.

Do some research by typing the celebrity’s name plus “scam” into a search engine. To avoid falling victim to a charity scam, follow the same advice with each organization or cause that they want you to support.

Even celebrities you meet on social media, never send cash, gift cards, or prepaid debit cards to someone you don’t know or haven’t met in person.

Contact the firm you used to transmit the money if you sent it to a fraudster (your bank, wire transfer service, gift card company, or prepaid debit card company). Inform them that the transaction was fraudulent. If it is feasible, ask the business to reverse the transaction.
Share your story on social media and with the EFCC.

Obesity is a topic that is frequently discussed in the media. it affects nearly 75 million adults and 12 million children in the United States alone. These staggering figures do not include the 33 percent of Americans who are simply overweight, the reason you should try and loose weight before it gets out of hand.

What does this mean exactly? Obesity is defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as having a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher. To put it into perspective, a 1.65m person becomes obese at 82kg. A BMI of 25-29 places you in the “obese” category. Check out the BMI calculator to determine your own BMI.

Is obesity, however, really that bad? “Yes!” is the unequivocal answer. If you still need convincing, here are five compelling reasons to lose weight:

  1. Cancer

According to the National Cancer Institute, obesity is associated with an increased risk of cancers of the oesophagus, breast (postmenopausal), endometrium (uterine lining), colon, rectum, kidney, pancreas, thyroid, and gallbladder, as well as possibly other types of cancer.

2. Diabetes

Type 2 diabetes is most common in middle-aged men and women who are overweight or obese, especially when those extra kilos manifest as belly fat from junk foods. However, adults are not the only ones who are at risk. Type 2 diabetes is becoming more common in children and teenagers who are overweight or obese.

3. Heart Disease

Triglyceride and bad cholesterol levels are caused by excess fat, particularly around the waist, boosts and also reduces good cholesterol, elevates blood pressure, and destroys your blood vessel system, putting you at a higher risk of cardiovascular disease, heart attack, and stroke.

4. Depression

Obesity in women is associated with a 37% increase in severe depression, and the two diseases frequently initiate and affect one other. According to the American Psychological Association, heavy women experience higher suicidal ideation.

5. Overall Quality of Life

If individual health problems aren’t enough of an incentive to loose weight, remember that obesity may have a significant financial impact as well. Obesity now accounts for over 21 percent of all US health-care expenses, according to a recent Cornell University research. This amounts to $190.2 billion each year on a national scale. Obese persons had $2,741 more in medical expenditures per year than non-obese ones. Obesity, in fact, now contributes more to health-care expenditures than smoking cigarettes.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) vs. Microsoft Azure vs. Google Cloud Platform (GCP) are in a three-way race for public infrastructure cloud computing leadership. These three top cloud companies clearly dominate the infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS) markets.

AWS is dominant in particular. “Amazon’s growth remained closely linked to the total market growth, and thus retained a 33% share of the [cloud] global market,” according to a 2020 analysis from the Synergy Research Group. Microsoft has again grown second-class quicker than the market and in the last 4 quarters, its market share expanded by over three percentage points to 18%.

Microsoft is especially strong in SaaS, while Google Cloud is positioned to be competitive as the AI market increases with its artificial intelligence force – and is famous for offering discounts.

Amazon Web Services

Amazon’s infrastructure cloud computing are unrivalled with a huge collection of tools that continue to increase tremendously. However, its cost structure might be perplexing and its focus on the public cloud instead of hybrid cloud or private cloud makes it a priority of AWS not to interact with your datacenter.

Microsoft Azure

Azure is an excellent AWS competitor with an extremely powerful infrastructure cloud computing. This cloud platform speaks your language, if you are a business customer – few firms as well as Microsoft have a business background (and support for Windows). It knows that you are still running a datacenter and the Azure platform works hard to communicate with the data centers.

Google Cloud Platform

Google, a well financed sub-contestant, later entered the cloud market and has no enterprise focus which helps to attract corporate customers. However, its technological know-how is vast and its tools in the deep learning and artificial intelligence, machine learning and data analytics are important assets.

See a Summary table of these three platforms

VendorStrengthsWeaknesses
AWS• Dominant position in the market
• Extensive, mature offerings
• Large organisations support
• Extensive training
• Global reach
• Difficult to utillize
• Management of cost
• Overwhelming options
Microsoft Azure• Integration with Microsoft tools and software
• Wide collection of features
• The second largest infrastructure provider
• Hybrid cloud
• Support for open source
•Issues with documentation
• Incomplete management tooling
Google• Designed for cloud-native businesses
• Commitment to open source and portability
• Deep discounts and flexible contracts
• DevOps expertise
• Late entrant to IaaS market
• Fewer features and services
• Historically not as enterprise focused

Matchmaking services are so much these days, even dating sites aren’t left out from Tinder, Badoo etc. Matchmaking isn’t something new though, it has been in existence for years now.

Mothers searching for a good wife for their son abroad, some even do it with both parties in Nigeria.

Parents wanting their kids to marry each other, so you see it’s not a new thing though there has been a more improvised way to do it.

With a high increase in the number of people finding it hard to get hooked with a life partner, matchmaking is the new normal.

I have seen cases of couples who were matchmaked and it ended well while some ended on a bad note.

To me, there’s no difference between meeting someone online, and offline or through an agency and meeting them personally.

It boils down to individual characteristics, decades ago parents do this, and the couples end up together but now there’s science, and technology that makes little or no difference.

This is how matchmaking service works:

If you meet them on a site, you simply check each other’s interests, which is part of the information you fill in when signing up on the app. If you meet through a matchmaker, you tell him/her your preferences and they find someone that suits your interests.

You both go on a date and you report back to the matchmaker what you think about the person. The good thing about using a matchmaker is your partner to be is screened and they make sure the person matches your goals, values etc.

They provide counselling even after the date, and you both decide to take it further.

It also saves you so much time. Well, if you wish to find your other half online or through a matchmaker, there are several matchmaking services in Nigeria. Find any you want and Goodluck.

Financing a Business is not a walk in the park, and a business can’t survive without finance. Financing a business means providing funds for starting and maintaining it,  regardless of whether it’s a small or large business.

Ways to finance your business in Nigeria?

1: Bank Loans: Loaning from banks has been in existence for decades now, and it’s the first place businesses go to once they need funding. This option isn’t the best for small businesses, because it requires having collateral from you to secure the loan.

2: Government Grants: Lately, the federal government has been considerate of startups and small businesses. They are providing funds for businesses that can impact the economy, you don’t need to repay, but you’ll be monitored. There are several government grants in Nigeria, which include; Bank of Industry Grants of Agriculture etc.

3: Family and Friends: If you have a good business idea, you can write a well-detailed business plan and inform them. Explain to them how you intend to pay them back, and always fill them in on any challenges that might come up. Also,  if things hit the roof, communicate immediately. Lastly, don’t mismanage the finance because they are your friends and family, be trustworthy.

4: Strategic Partnership: Some people have funds to invest in a business, they don’t involve themselves in the day-to-day activities of the company. While some do, all you need is to sign a contract and have an agreement with this partner or co-founder. Choose a trustworthy partner.

5: Crowdfunding: This is simply raising funds for individuals from a lot of people. Crowdfunding isn’t done for business alone, health issues, tuition fees etc. If you’re using this option, you’re not repaying them because they are not investors.  There are many crowdfunding sites you can do this or through social media.

These are a few out of the options available to finance a business. You can choose any that is suitable for you, also note that before looking for ways to finance a business you should be sure of the nature of your business, the risks involved and the challenges you might face.
